E-book converters
Turn a DRM-free EPUB into a PDF you can print, annotate or read on any device. The book is laid out in your browser and saved with the browser's own print function, so nothing is uploaded.

Which tool do I need?
- You want to print or annotate an EPUB, or read it on a device without an e-book app
- EPUB to PDF lays the book out in your browser with the paper size, margins and text size you choose, and saves it through the print dialog as a PDF with selectable, searchable text and the book's own images. Convert EPUB to PDF
- You only need a few pages of the result, or want to combine it with other documents
- Make the PDF first, then take out the pages you need or join it with other PDFs. Extract pages from a PDF · Merge PDF files
Why the PDF comes from the print dialog
Laying out a whole book with proper line breaks, hyphenation and embedded fonts is exactly what a browser's print engine does well, so the book is prepared in the page and you choose "Save as PDF" in the print dialog. Turning pages into pictures instead would give large files with text you cannot search or copy.
DRM-free books only
Books sold with copy protection (DRM), such as Adobe ADEPT or Apple FairPlay, have encrypted chapters that only the reading app can open. The tool detects this and tells you. Books from Project Gutenberg, Standard Ebooks and many independent authors and publishers are DRM-free and convert fine.
Page numbers will differ
Page breaks depend on the paper size, margins and text size you pick, so page numbers do not match an e-reader or a printed edition. Each chapter starts on a new page. Comics and other fixed-layout books are converted too, but may not look exactly like they do on your e-reader.
