Which tool do I need?

How fast is it?

Audio converts in seconds. Video is encoded on one processor core of your own computer, which is slower than desktop software: plan for about two to six minutes per minute of 1080p video on a recent laptop, and more on a phone. The page shows the progress and the time left.

Quality and lossy formats

MP3, AAC and H.264 are lossy: they make files small by leaving out details. Each conversion between lossy formats loses a little more, so start from the best copy you have, and do not expect a converted file to sound or look better than its source.
