About FileReshape

FileReshape is a set of free file converters that run entirely in your web browser.

Why it exists

Most online converters ask you to upload your file to their server, convert it there and send it back. That is slow for large files, and it means a copy of your document, photo or dataset sits on a stranger's computer. FileReshape works the other way round: the converter is downloaded to your browser and does the work on your own device. Your files are never sent anywhere.

How it works

Each tool uses well-known open-source software compiled to run in the browser:

Because the work happens on your device, the speed depends on your computer or phone, and very large files are limited by your browser's memory.

Who is behind it

FileReshape is built and run by a GIS specialist from Denmark who works with spatial data every day and wanted converters that handle coordinate systems, shapefile parts and other details correctly.
